Responsibilities:
Visiting ill and/or elderly people in our area. Participating in the Bergen County Bikur Cholim Committee medical lending library.

Chesed Committee
Responsibilities:
Coordinating meals for families with new babies, shiva houses or other people in need. Identifying and addressing the needs of members of our community who are ill of otherwise in need of assistance.

Tzedakah Commitee
Responsibilities:
Determining whether members of the community are in need of financial assistance and taking steps to address those needs. Establishing various funds for tzedakah donations and creating a mechanism for raising and distributing moneys in cooperation with the community.

Religious Affairs Committee:
Responsibilities:
Addressing the religious participation of the community and the manner in which Netivot Shalom meets the religious and spiritual needs of its members. Identifying areas that require assistance and taking steps to address issues, including participation and quality of tefilla. Considering the spiritual and religious needs of the youth in the community. Developing policies and programs to enhance women’s involvement in religious and ritual elements of tefilla.

Social Committee
Responsibilities:
Planning and coordinating various social activities at Netivot Shalom, including a women’s tea, seudah shlishit, bowling outing, trip to a basketball game, round-robin potluck dinner, women’s pottery night and shul picnic.

Responsibilities:
Coordinating classes, divrei torah and shiurim at Netivot Shalom. Planning for in-house and outside scholars in residence. Enhancing the educational component of youth programming. Identifying opportunities for learning in the context of chagim and existing programs.

Youth Committee
Responsibilities:
Hiring and supervising youth director and youth group leaders. Planning and executing programs for youth of Netivot Shalom. Identifying opportunities for youth participation in the chesed and bikur cholim committees. Involving youth in ritual and education aspects of the shul, as appropriate. Creating youth programs within the context of chagim and existing programs.

Israel Action Commitee
Responsibilities:
Israel-focused programming, including the Netivot Shalom trip to Israel. Coordinating with other shuls and community organizations / institutions to enhance Netivot Shalom’s participation in community events, including Yom Ha’azmaut and Yom Hazikaron programs.
