The Netivot Shalom Chesed Committee is proud to host a naloxone training, presented by the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at Rutgers. The goal of this training is to prepare Netivot community members to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. The training will be virtual on Zoom and is capped at 25 participants. The training will be on Wednesday, April 19 at 8 PM.
In 2020, nearly 68,000 thousand people in the United States died from an opioid overdose. The Opioid Overdose Prevention Network (OOPN) was developed by the NJ Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services in partnership with the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to combat this crisis.
You must be18 years of age and older to attend, and you will receive a free naloxone kit after attending the training.
