Annual Teaneck Yom HaShoa Program

On Monday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m., at Teaneck High School, 100 Elizabeth Avenue, the Jewish Community Council of Greater Teaneck will hold its Yom Hashoa, Holocaust Memorial Day, program. The keynote speaker is Mark Schonwetter, who spent the war years in hiding with his mother and sister in the Polish countryside.

Project S.A.R.A.H. Annual Breakfast

Project S.A.R.A.H 11th Annual Breakfast, Sunday, April 30th, 9:30 -11:30am, at Cong. Keter Torah. Honorees: Guest of Honor - Dr. David Pelcovitz; Rabbinical Support Award - Rabbi Yaakov Neuburger; Volunteer Recognition Award - Peggy Danishefsky. Keynote Speaker: Dr. David Pelcovitz. Project S.A.R.A.H. (Stop Abusive Relationships At Home) provides services and resources for Jewish victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse throughout the state of New Jersey. Our services help victims to process the traumas they have experienced, enabling them to work towards happier and more productive lives. We connect victims and survivors with a broad array of services including individual and group therapy by our highly trained clinical staff, pro bono legal consultations, and psychiatric services, as well as providing emotional, financial and vocational support.

Community Wide Yom Hazikaron Observance &  Yom Ha'atzmaut Celebration 

The community-wide Yom Hazikaron observance and Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration will take place on Monday, May 1, at Keter Torah.

Shabbat Bikur Cholim

Bikur Cholim Bergen County (BCBC) is proud to announce its inaugural annual “Shabbat Bikur Cholim”, May 5 - 6 Shabbat Parshat Kedoshim, Shabbat of unity during Sefira. The main goal of this event is to create awareness of our many programs and services. There will then be a Melave Malka at the home of Laizer and Dr. Jessica Kornwasser, 393 Edgewood Ave, Teaneck, on that Motzei Shabbat, May 6th,  9:30 pm. We invite the community to partner with us by joining our short program. The evening will feature some words of inspiration from Rabbi Ephraim Simon, a great supporter of BCBC and role model of someone who lives by the motto Kol Yisrael Areivim Zeh Lazeh. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about our programs and services and sign up to volunteer in a way that works with your schedule. Project Ezra Interest Free Loan Program

Project Ezrah has recently introduced an Interest Free Loan Program (IFLP). The IFLP is intended to help people with unexpected expenses, (collapsed roof,
