He is the rabbi of Jerusalem’s modern Orthodox Ramban Synagogue. Rav Benny taught in Beit Morasha of Jerusalem and served as the head of its Beit Midrash, with Rabbi Judah Brandes, from 1998 to 2012. During his tenure he founded and headed the Beit Midrash for Women’s Leadership at Beit Morasha. In 2013, Rav Benny began his work at the Israel Democracy Institute, as the overseer of the Human Rights and Judaism in Action Project.
CSS Volunteers and Training
In order to maintain a full compliment of trained security monitors at Netivot Shalom on Shabbat on over the upcoming holidays, we need more volunteers to step up and join the CSS rotation. CSS is currently seeking new volunteers to undergo the basic level one training, which will take place in late July. This training is two brief sessions.
For those interested in the more advanced training, we seriously need additional volunteers to run the shifts and relieve the burden on those who have been working very hard for the community all year.
Please contact Lew Michelson for more information and to be included in either level of training.
High Holiday Hashkama Minyan
We are considering adding a hashkama (early morning) minyan for the high holidays. Please let us know if you would be interested in this option by filling out this form. We are using this form to gauge interest in this option; answering will not be considered a commitment.
Shabbat Morning Learner's Service
Our Learner's Service will take place this Shabbat on the second floor from 9:15-10:15 AM and is led by Yael Smooha. It is geared for those who would like to deepen their appreciation and understanding of the Shabbat tefillot.
