CSS Volunteers and Training
In order to maintain a full compliment of trained security monitors at Netivot Shalom on Shabbat on over the upcoming holidays, we need more volunteers to step up and join the CSS rotation. CSS is currently seeking new volunteers to undergo the basic level one training, which will take place in late July. This training is two brief sessions.
For those interested in the more advanced training, we seriously need additional volunteers to run the shifts and relieve the burden on those who have been working very hard for the community all year.
Please contact Lew Michelson for more information and to be included in either level of training.
Upcoming Events
Meylech Viswanath at Beth Aaron
Our member Meylekh Viswanath will discuss a Shabbat he recently spent with the Bnei Noah of Vishakapatnam on the eastern coast of India on Sunday, July 16th, at 6:45 p.m at Beth Aaron. Most of the Bnei Noah are former Christians who were dissatisfied with the contradictions they see in the Christian understanding of Biblical sources and look instead to the Hebrew Bible and to the Jewish view of the obligations of Gentiles.
On July 26th, this year's Jewish Women's Journey Through Life focuses on mind, body & soul with panelists Shera Dubitsky, healthy mindfulness lecturer and Director of Navigation and Support Services at Sharsheret, Rebbetzin Bassie Taubes, long-time nurse and Director & Owner of Wellness Motivations, and Yoetzet Halacha Shoshana Samuels. After each panelist explores perspectives and tools from her years of experience of service with our community on mind, body & soul respectively, Dr. Rayzel Yaish, Director of Guidance at Ma'ayanot will moderate Q&A. Women of all ages and stages are welcome! For more information and to RSVP, please visit www.rinat.org/yoetzetevent2017
