Pursuant to our by-laws:

Any member who has not been nominated may do so only upon providing the Nominating Committee with a petition to run that bears the original signatures of at least 10 members. Such petition must be presented to the Nominating Committee at least two days prior to the election (i.e., by Friday, May 31). Any candidates running pursuant to this provision shall appear on the written ballot. There shall be no candidacies announced or nominated from the floor during the election proceedings.
Elections:
At the elections, written ballots with names of the candidates will be distributed. For all uncontested positions, there will be an opportunity to vote for or against the nominated candidate. The elections will be conducted by secret ballot.

Proxy Voting: 
For those who are unable to be physically present for the elections, one member may serve as a proxy for up to a maximum of two other members. The proxy must be in writing and must bear the original signature of the principal. An example of language to be used in the proxy is "I ____________ hereby designate ___________ as my proxy, to vote in my place at the June 2, 2019 Netivot Shalom Annual Elections and General Meeting." A signed and dated proxy must be presented to the Nominating Committee before a member will be permitted to vote on behalf of anyone else. Proxy voting is only permitted for the election of board members.

Netivot’s Third Annual Mystery Shabbat Lunch on June 29th!

 How does it work?
·       Sign up  here  to participate and indicate if you want to host or be a guest.
·       The social committee will divide everyone into meals with 10-12 people total. Hosts will be informed how many guests they will have earlier that week. Guests will bring a pareve item to the potluck dessert.
·       Find out where you are eating and who you are eating with during Kiddush that day at shul!
·       Join all participants for a potluck dessert.
Since this type of event takes a lot of time to organize, don’t forget to submit  THIS FORM  by June 17th to sign up.

The Social Committee

As we transition from Pesah and engage in the Omer count to the summit of Har Sinai, please join us in participating in our annual communal learning. Please sign up for a section of Tanakh and Mishnah that we hope to complete by the second day of Shavuot. Here again is the LINK to sign up.

Netivot Shalom is looking for a dynamic part-time Youth Director to expand, enrich, and coordinate Shabbat, holiday and special programming. The Youth Director works with the Youth Committee to organize special activities and innovative programs for youth from nursery through high school. The Director coordinates and oversees youth groups on Shabbat and holidays, trains group leaders to effectively implement programming in groups, and supervises group leaders.

Ideal candidate would have some experience developing programs for kids and teens. Teaching experience is a plus, but not a must. Must have an abundance of creative ideas and excellent follow-through. We are looking to hire someone to begin Fall 2019. This could be a long term opportunity for the right candidate.

Time2Talk Substance Abuse Groups

We welcome any family member with a loved one suffering from addiction and substance abuse issues to our local support group, which meets every other Wednesday evening in Teaneck. The group is free of charge and is facilitated by clinicians specializing in addiction.
