Mazal Tov

Mazal tov to our associate member, Zelda R. Stern whose commitment to the Jewish community will be highlighted as she gives the address to the graduates at Yeshivat Maharat's Semikha Ceremony on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 6:15 pm at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, 3700 Henry Hudson Parkway, Bronx, NY.  The Ceremony will also be livestreamed at www.yeshivatmaharat.org .  This year's eight graduates, include Marianne Novak, who served as our wonderful intern this past year. Tikkun Leil Shavuot

We are looking forward to this year’s Tikkun Leil Shavuot (all-night learning program), on the first night of Shavuot. The Tikkun is sponsored by Fred and Marcia Schulman, in memory of Fred’s mother, Selma Schulman (Yapha Chaya bat Shlomo), and by Barry and Margaret Herzog.

Netivot’s Third Annual Mystery Shabbat Lunch on June 29th!

 How does it work?
·       Sign up  here  to participate and indicate if you want to host or be a guest.
·       The social committee will divide everyone into meals with 10-12 people total. Hosts will be informed how many guests they will have earlier that week. Guests will bring a pareve item to the potluck dessert.
·       Find out where you are eating and who you are eating with during Kiddush that day at shul!
·       Join all participants for a potluck dessert.
Since this type of event takes a lot of time to organize, don’t forget to submit  THIS FORM  by June 17th to sign up.

Get ready for summer! Learn about different styles of beer and taste some excellent craft beers at a beer tasting class given by Mendy Mark of Filler Up. June 30th 7:30 pm at Netivot Shalom. More details to come.

Youth

Netivot Shalom is looking for a dynamic part-time Youth Director to expand, enrich, and coordinate Shabbat, holiday and special programming. The Youth Director works with the Youth Committee to organize special activities and innovative programs for youth from nursery through high school. The Director coordinates and oversees youth groups on Shabbat and holidays, trains group leaders to effectively implement programming in groups, and supervises group leaders.

Ideal candidate would have some experience developing programs for kids and teens. Teaching experience is a plus, but not a must. Must have an abundance of creative ideas and excellent follow-through. We are looking to hire someone to begin Fall 2019. This could be a long term opportunity for the right candidate.

Sponsorships for a youth department Kiddush with special snacks are available for $36! Kiddush sponsorships are for children's birthday and special events (like a sports victory or school award) only. Time2Talk Substance Abuse Groups

We welcome any family member with a loved one suffering from addiction and substance abuse issues to our local support group, which meets every other Wednesday evening in Teaneck. The group is free of charge and is facilitated by clinicians specializing in addiction.
