Sponsor Simchat Torah Kiddush
It's time to look forward to another great Simchat Torah kiddush. This kiddush is an event for the entire kehila. Please join in sponsoring this annual event by completing our sponsorship form. In addition to being a wonderful way to finish the Yom Tov season, the money raised for this fundraiser will be the only money available in our budget for kiddush through out the rest of the year on weeks that we have no sponsor. We strongly encourage those who partake in Scotch on a regular basis to consider the Sponsor level donation.
#ShowUpforShabbat
Last year, on October 27, we witnessed unspeakable horror at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue. The murder of 11 innocent Jews at prayer represented the worst of humanity. The following weekend, we saw the best as around the world, millions of people of all faiths rallied around AJC’s #ShowUpForShabbat initiative, packing synagogues in what became the largest-ever expression of solidarity with the American Jewish community. On the one-year anniversary, AJC is again calling on all people of good conscience to #ShowUpForShabbat. We hope you will join us in once again welcoming interfaith guests to join us at Netivot on Oct 26 in worship, remembrance and community. Please spread the word and talk with Paula Eiselt with any thoughts/questions.
Mitzvah Day Toiletries Collections
For the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey's annual Mitzvah Day on November 24th, Netivot Shalom will be collecting new and unopened, travel-sized toiletries--including body wash, shampoo, soap, deodorant, lotion, combs and brushes, toothpaste and toothbrushes. These will be used to make hygiene kits that will be donated to area shelters and food banks. Donations may be dropped off through November 22nd at the home of Sima & Jeff Kern, 119 Bennett Road.
